Our Inspiration: “I’m going home tomorrow!”
“After her brief frolic by the sea, our 11-year-old daughter, Marcia, announced with all the authority she could muster ‘I’m going Home tomorrow!’ And indeed she did. On August 3, 1982, Marcia Rene Miles died of cancer in a hospital in Venice, FL, surrounded by a family who loved her very much…enough to give Florida and a short time by the sea ‘Her dream come true!’ “

During the two years following, the Miles continued their involvement with childhood cancer families, clinics, and hospitals thus realizing the great need for an organized outreach to these special children and their families… and the Non-profit 501(c)(3) organization was born.
H.I.S. K.I.D.S., Inc. was then founded in 1984 and is currently offering services for over 2,000 seriously ill children and family members in our Midwest and Florida Regions combined.
There is no other organization serving children with cancer and their families in the same way that HIS KIDS does. We support our families from the time the child is diagnosed, throughout their treatment & beyond. Every possible means is used to provide emotional, physical and spiritual support as well as emergency assistance to the families of children with cancer and related illnesses. All services and programs are provided at no charge and without regard to race, creed, color or financial ability
H.I.S. K.I.D.S. has been serving families affected by childhood cancer for so long that individuals who once attended our programs as children are now taking leadership positions within the organization.
Mission: Our mission is to decrease the devastation of childhood cancer families through support programs, emotional health services, and emergency assistance.
Vision: We envision all childhood cancer families having opportunities to gain hope, stability, and tools to move through the process of surviving obstacles to striving for a “new normal” to thriving as productive and happy individuals and families. H.I.S. K.I.D.S. Inc. will continue to be a leader in pioneering programs that offer these opportunities to an ever-expanding network of affected families.
Values & Beliefs: We accept the unfortunate reality of childhood cancer and believe that positive outcomes are possible within that reality. We believe that diagnosis of childhood cancer is permanently life-changing for the entire family. For this reason, service should continue from diagnosis, throughout treatment, and beyond.
We value faith, compassion, sincerity, dependability, service to others, pursuit of excellence, and integrity. We endeavor to instill a sense of these values in our programming and operations as well as in those we serve.
